What's Available?

Goaty - Goats
Our herd is considered a "Closed-Herd", meaning no outside peoples or animals go among the herd prior to specific bio-security measures. Our animals have been tested for CAE*, CL* and Johnnes* by UBRL in 2018. Our herd is vaccinated against CD/T annually,  usually 30 days prior to the start of the seasons' kidding. They're given a medicated grain under the supervision of our livestock veterinarian**, as a precaution to any unforeseen ailments such as, but not limited to; pneumonia, foot rot, listeria, E. Coli or any minor infections due to pasture cuts and scrapes. The herd is separated by breeding age genders. (Bucks and Does) Both herds  have access to pasture, fresh water, shade, sun and shelter 24/7, while housed with a male Anatolian Akbash dog, that is able to travel between the two pastures. Both herds receive free choice mineral and baking soda, as well as alfalfa grass hay.

We do vaccinate kids with a 50/50 dose of CD/T and Penicillin combo at birth, then a CD/T booster at 6-8 weeks of age, depending on how soon/late they wean. New for 2021, we will adding vet prescribed Baycox to our routine as a coccidia prevention. We start at birth with a small dose, then re-treat every 21 days, dosed by weight, while in our care until 21 days post-weaning.  These medications, there dosages and weights are documented and will travel with every kid.
We aim for polled goats, however horns happen. If you'd like your kid disbudded(horn buds burned to eliminate horn growth), this choice is critical to make early in its' life, as soon as 3 days old and no later then 7 days on most kids. (A 50% deposit will be required if you're wanting horns to STAY! and we will NOT band horns at any age.)

Please feel free to contact us with any questions/concerns you may have! No such thing as a dumb question, especially when it comes to goats!
