La Mancha

We fell in love with this "earless" breed while living in Colorado, which is where we purchased Smiley. It took us about 4 years to become stable enough to locate a buck large enough to accommodate Smiley in her first freshening. March 10, 2018 Slevin was born as Smiley's first kid, thus sharing with us the wonders of the LaMancha dairy goat.

The LaMancha is a large breed dairy goat, reaching weights of 100 pounds plus. They're known to have the capabilities to produce gallons of milk a day! In our experience Smiley's milk replaced store bought cow's milk instantly, however she was only one goat, so we went out and purchased another LaMancha, Chrys. Chrys is on the smaller side and struggles with Milk Fever when kidding, so we are currently re-evaluating our small LaMancha herd at this time. Also due to the untimely loss of Smiley in early 2020, we will be re-focusing our LaMancha does in the cross breed of Mini Manchas.
