Livestock Guardian Dogs

Turkish Akbash x Anatolian Shepherd

The Livestock Guardian Dog(s) are kept with the flock or herd that they're intended to protect. The dog(s) live among the herd or flock day and night, no matter the weather. They are taught to love their flock or herd by living solely among them at a very young age. This in turn encourages them to protect their herd or flock should a threat arise. Some guardians may even rarely interact with any persons, except the farmer, therefore people could even be seen as a potential threat among the more obvious threat of coyotes, foxes and hawks.

These dogs aren't meant to be feared, but respected. Should you have the honor of meeting one, just remember, they're are a working dog and ALWAYS protecting that herd or flock.
